I recall (I think) reading that Forward Motion did not put 240 sleeves in a KDX200 because of KIPS fit troubles and the resultant changes in port angles/size and such.

I've since read that Mr. Gorr does indeed put 240 sleeves in the 200.

I'm not asking if there is such a sleeve. I'm sure there is. I'm inquiring as to the efficacy of its application.

Yes? ..or no.

Thanks.

I would think the motor would make much better low and midrange power, maybe a little less over-rev though. I've heard of some vibration issues with larger over-bores but don't have personal experience with the KDX240. Sounds killer to me. You know, if Eric does it, it's going to be good.

That's just it. I thought he used to not do it...but maybe now he does. I'm wondering if he changed his point of view.

CC - I don't know the specific answer to your question but I'll point Eric to this thread so he can share his thoughts on it.

Just to bring this back to the top. I'm interested in what Eric's thoughts are on a KDX240, especially on the older E series (89-94) KDX's.

Sorry I didn't get back to this sooner. Here's the scoop:

- 95 and later 200s can go to 225 or 240 with boring and PLATING, no sleeve needed.

- If you have a pre 95 KDX you are stuck with the stock bore size. Trying to go oversize will eliminate the use of the powervalve.

Quick nit-pick. It is '95 and up vs. '94 and earlier.

1995 - 2005 are the H models. 1989 - 1994 are the E models. I called Forward Motion sometime last week to ask about it on the E models and some nice guy said the power valves were too close, so no 225 kit for the '89 - '94 KDX200's. :-(

You're probably right Jason but Eric told me 94 specifically. I never deal with the KDX stuff so I'll let you guy take it up with him. ;)

Who there is about 40, and not soft spoken, but more gentlemanly spoken voice? (almost a calming, pleasant type of voice)

I am wondering who I spoke to on the phone.

Thanks from the toothpick grinder king

A calming, pleasant type of voice?????? HMMMMM, doesn't sound like anybody at Forward Motion :rotfl:

When I talked to Eric about this he was in the middle of something and got the cut off years mixed up. I just talked to him to verify it and you're right, 95 is the correct cutoff year. Thanks for the heads up Jason. I'm going to edit my original post to reflect the correct info. :worship:

LOL It was somebody there. :-) Whoever it was, I was impressed with the knowledge and how they gave it.

It is 1994 technology with a 1995 model year label. :-)
