Well i've been gone for almost a year :bang: but i am now able to continue on my 8 year project (1976 husqvarna 250) im still having compression issues like i said in my last posts i think the head and/or the jug is warped if i get them both machined will a new base gasket be enough to cover the space that was machined or am i screwed and have to locate a new jug/head. as it stands now the bike fires and runs but i know its blowing compression out and i don't wanna damage the new parts i just invested into the bike any thoughts or advice would help alot thanks in advance

Take the head and jug off and find a peice of thick glass or marble countertop and set them on there. You'll be able to tell if they're warped or not. If they are tape some fine grit sandpaper to a board and rub the head and jug in circles to flatten it out. This takes a long time or you could take it in to get it machine would would be a lot easier but more $. And im sure you have but it's got a new headgasket?
