I stepped out of the bank this last Sat., & at the adjacent gas station were these new bikes being hand made locally. Two prototypes were in the back of a p/u, two others on their own power & seemingly pre-production, well detailed. The lettering on the tank was Dan Gurney & Alligator.
The rider sits way low, on top of the swing arm pivot. Everything else looks conventional. They use XR650L (720cc?) engines, elec' start, with two Keihin YZF/KTM RFS-like carbs. They are not much quieter than a YZF.
I suppose the idea is lower CG = better handling & different feel in the saddle; seems rather vulnerable, even tho any pavement is risky in my eyes whenever 2 wheels meets 4.
Perhaps this is the next canyon carver; not as fast as something with fairing, but with the sweet feel & sound of a large single.
