Just bought an XR400. It was assembled while I was on the way to the shop, thus is totally stock and new. I'm wondering what I should be doing to spruce her up a lil' bit. I will be mostly trail riding from 5000-10000 ft in Colorado.
My list so far:
Smaller drive sprocket (2 teeth)
K&N filter
Barkbusters
Metal disc brake guards/chainguard
Dremel out rear of exhaust
Jet w/ 135
Fender bag
Skid plate
While I've been off a bike for a very long time, I always rode a 2-stroke. Is there anything else performance-wise I should be doing to keep her snappy and responsive (besides a whole new pipe)?
For break-in I was going to add everything above except the jet and run a few hours, then change the oil with some 50/50 syn blend and jet. That sound about right?
