i looked at a bike and i the owner told me he raced it as a pro independant and he said he raced the bike at two nationals during the 2001 season. now i saw the post about this bike that mxracer bought from a pro that had the backrounds on it that have teh little oval with ama written in it. i dont remember seeing that on this bike and was wondering if you had to have that to race at the nationals or if that was like something that you bought as an extra. this will determine the kids credibility and prolly help determine whether i buy the bike from him. so please try to help in any way you can. thanks

The pros don't get the whole background that I'm aware of, those are just stickers that the AMA puts on the number plates at Tech insp. I beleive. So he may have raced a national and just removed the sticker. I wouldn't sweat it too much, he may have tried to qualify and didn't make it to the "show" and that can be pretty hard to take, so maybe he's partially telling the truth, who knows. Pray he's not a "Pro", the bike will be in better shape if he's not!

SoCal/DeCal will also print that on your number plates if you want....
An "AMA Pro Racing" sticker does not a Pro make :debil:
