I took the brake pads off my CR125 and then I took the part that's called the spring pad out little metal clip thing.

Anyway I put it back in and then put the pads but the bolt that goes through the pads will not line up with the holes on the pads when the spring pad is inserted...so I took it out then tried and the bolt lined up perfect...

Can somone please help maybe I'm putting it in wrong I dunno.

And what does it do? Do you even need it?

Thx,
Ride on!

You don't have to use the spring pad, but it does stop the caliper from wearing, plus stops the pad from rattling.
Take a look at the little tabs that hold the clip to the caliper. They are probably bent over preventing the clip from seating properly.

Thanks...nice to know I don't have to worry about messing my bike up seriously if I take a ride without it on.

Thx again,
Later.
