I have a 82 Suzuki RM465 that is very hard to start.
If you don't start it for a week its OK, but when it's been run and let cool down it won't start without a new plug, it also floods easy.
the float level is fine and when it runs it runs great.
I run 32/1 fuel with a 300 main jet a 50 pilot ,stock jet needle 2Cnd clip from the top and the pilot screw 1 1/2 out.

I am assuming you are turning your fuel off even for short stops. Aside from that I would suggest that you check your reeds. However if it is "cold fouling" or when you are trying to start it up first thing it could need a fresh top end.
