I just pulled my clutch on my 99 KX 250 and noticed some grooves on my hub and basket (mostly on the hub). The PO had installed steel plates and I was thinking about doing the same on my other KX 250 mainly for some flywheel effect. Has anyone noticed a corelation between steel plates and accelerated wear on the hub/basket? I have never had this problem before on any of my street bikes with steel plates or any of my dirt bikes with aluminum plates.
