We are planning to ride in Stonyford in Northern California on Oct. 12 & 13, is anybody interested in joining us?

We rode there three weeks ago and had a great ride. We are probably camping in Little Stonyford.

Please post or send PM to me, if you are interested.

Rick...I don't like dust but I haven't been on my bike in almost 5 months and I just want to ride. Did you ride at Georgetown yesterday? Hope to ride with you soon and hope you still plan to race Wilseyville Nov. 17.

Mimi...I'll call you later this week.

Thanks for your replies, guys!

Yes, I know we can't avoid dusty condition. But I HAVE TO RIDE!
I didn't ride at all in August due to the dusty and hot condition. I rode in Stonyford on Sep. 15. It was dusty but wasn't so bad. (Foresthill 3 weeks ago was awful. I'm glad Training Wheel was postponed.)
When we were on high elevation in Stonyford, we felt pretty cool. I loved the trail #4. It was very nice.
Anyway, if you change your mind, please come and look for us.

Treefinder, are you riding Jackhammer or working as a staff?
I won't be able to make it, but Buddy and his son Jonathon are riding.

Hey Mini,

Would love to ride at Stonyford but think we are going to have to pass this time. Had a few suspension issues with my bike at the primetime HS and a friend has offered to help get it dialed so I think we'll just head on down to Hollister for the day. Plus next weekend is going to be crazy. Mick overalled last weekend's hare scramble :thumb: and is now keen to finish the series, which means doing the hare scramble on Sat at Donner Ranch and then heading to stonyford so I can fumble my way around at the Jackhammer.

Have fun up there anyway.

Glad to hear from you fremontguy!
Are you also camping?

We decided to camp at Little Stony.
Although there is no running water and camp site is only for 8-10 parties, we think Little Stony is prettier and less dustier than other campground in Stonyford. So we are trying to go up there on Friday afternoon to secure our camping spot. Of course, if we can't get in there, we have to move to some other campground.

Anyway, we should talk about the details on the phone. O.K.?

Looking forward to riding with you again.

Hey firelily,
This is from one of the boys at the fire, you came over and talked to us friday night. Thought I would check out dirt rider and found your posts. We also thought little stony was great, Our favorite trails were 20 and 22. And to all the people who would not go because of dust, thanks because without you the dust really was not that bad and we did not see many people. Also tell your night riding buddies to get some lights!

ZEKEDAWG, I'm glad that you are now in DRN!!
Thank you for sharing the cool fire with us. I thought we should definitely bring woods for fire next time.
And since you guys told me Chico is a party town, I want to go and check it out one day.....

fremontguy, thank you for riding with us. It was a lot of fun except for dirt roads. Please let us know when you go back to George Town.

Chico is the party town, take it from a grad. ;)

I rode at Stonyford years ago and the guys I went with all still talk about that trip when we see each other. I'll watch this space for next time you all talk about going!

Zeke, where do you like to go around Chico? I'm up there frequently still.

ZEKEDAWG, thank you for the offer.
Buddy and I will definitely contact you when we decide to come up to your area.

Belinda, are you riding Jackhammer?
The condition in Stonyford wasn't so bad for me. Of course, no rain = dust and some loose soil. So if you ride too close to the rider in front of you, it's little risky, but the weather was very nice. We rode about 110 miles for two days. I really enjoyed it.
Oh, and we met Dave Woods in Little Stony!

luvutolean, I would like to go back and ride in Stonyford again after some rain. When the time comes, I will post again, so please come and ride with us.

Mini ;)
