sub frame? 03kdx

i purchest an 03 kdx about a year ago used and in ruff condtion looked like it was a free style training bike but it ran good and i needed a bike now. anyhow the rear subframe was cut off just behind the seat bolts, must have gotn bent and just cut off. whats left is stright, but just bothers me. any ideas on what should or could be done. thanks for the use of ya'lls brains. frank.

You can buy a new oem sub frame. From http://www.bikebandit.com/partsbandit/oem~submit_from_stage~1~section_dept_id~1.asp The sub frame for 2003 kdx 220 is $132 US

i guss it would have to be welded on. only one side has bolts

has anybody used a removeable sub frame off another bike

i have often wondered if that could be done. I would like to have a removeable sub-frame, just for ease of maintainence. an aluminum subframe might lose a few pounds off the bike. this is one of the things i wish kawasaki would update.

i know a few months ago i saw where somone had posted that they had done this convertion i did a search but could not find any thing. any body rember i think it was with a fork convertion. thanks.
