Ugly game. Officiating wasn't that bad. Steelers had another down to go if Rothlesburger didn't make the TD anyway. The interference was, well, interference. Not flagrant, but interference none the less.

If it wasn't for trick plays, the Steelers would have lost. It's a team game and the coach is part of the team. Cowher made enough good calls to win.

And no, I'm not a Steelers fan by any stretch of the imagination.

I was referring to the Seattle touchdown that was over turned for offensive interference. That wasn't exactly a Randy Moss/Michael Irvin type of push off. I'm mean he touched him but I've seen more contact watching seniors jockey for position at blue-plate special! :)

That said, Seattle can't blame the refs for that game, imo. They had their chances. I agree with you, Cowher and his timing of the trick plays was the difference in the game.

I am in a little bit of a unique situation. I was born and raised in the Seattle area. I am now in Harrisburg, PA and have become quite a Steelers fan. I went into this game cheering for Seattle since they are my first choice, but thinking this was a win win situation. No matter what the outcome, one of my teams was walking away with the trophy.

I can't express how empty I feel. The officials clearly played too big a part in the outcome of the game. I thought I might have been biased, but after reading multiple articles on the game I'm finding that many people, including former Super Bowl coaches and players are disgusted with the role that poor officiating played in the game.

I really wanted to be happy for Bettis and Cowher especially, but it seems that there will always be an asterick after this win for them. It's unfortunate that the TEAMS weren't able to decide the winner. It still could have gone either way, but Seattle was clearly taken out of it through the actions of the zebra's.

The interference call was blatant as heck. He stiff-armed the defender and left his hand on his chest until his arm was fully extended. You might want to watch that again lol. The Steelers overcame FAR worse officiating when they beat Indy. Holmgren looked like he had other things he'd rather be doing - what an exciting guy to play for :debil:

MrLuckey, if your response is to me then I must tell you I agree with you on the pass interference call in the end zone. It was a good call in my opinion. The Roethlisberger touchdown was also a call that I felt the officials got right and could have gone either way.

Pittsburgh definitely capitalized on their opportunities and made things count when they needed too. There were other calls and non calls that did play more into the game than those two.

I'm not upset that Pittsburgh won. Like I said before, I am a fan. It's just unfortunate that officiating played the role that it did. I'm not alone in this position. There are plenty of sports reporters out there with years of experience that have been studying and watching this game longer than I have who feel the same way.

I think the worst and most game effecting bad call, was the holding call on Locklear that brought back the catch by Stevens on the Steelers 1 yard line.

I know, even though, the Seahawks had plenty of opportunities to win otherwise, take that one bad call back and we would have saw a completely different game.

Anyhow, both teams played like crap. The Steelers came out on top, end of story.

I'll go with John Madden's opinion on that call, since he's in the Hall of Fame.

You could tell the Steelers were uttering a sigh of relief, since they were dominated in total yardage, time of possession, and turnovers, yet the script still said they had to win.

I'm not a fan of either team, and the Seahawks certainly had their chances, but that was as ticky tack interference as I've ever remember seeing in a post season game.

Give it up to Cowher though, he found a way to win. When you're best pass play is thrown by a reciever, it's been a long day.
