I recently got new springs and a revalve (beginner/intermediate setup). Went from .42 to .44 in the front with 95mm oil and from 4.8 to 5.0 in the rear with 175psi nitrogen. I weigh 175lbs, 5'11. I ride a lot of hard pack tracks. The bike is much better now and I can do jumps I didn't do last year.
However, I think I still shouldn't be bottoming on this one sort of double. I'm 6 out on the compression (originally set at 9) in the front and 1-1/4 turn on the high in the rear plus 7 for the low compression. Still bottoms.
Now the questions/concerns...
1. Maybe I should have got the .46/5.2 spring setup? I'm running out of clickers and possibly oil (see next question).
2. Does anyone know the maximum oil height I can go on my 2001 YZ250F for the forks? I heard somewhere that I can add oil to the forks to bring it to 90mm (to help bottoming) but they said 90mm was the max. The manual says the range is 80mm to 140mm. Can I go to 90, 85 without risk of locking the forks up?
