My '90 RM125 will run great for one minute, the next minute it will bog very bad when quickly blipping the throttle from closed to half open or wot. Then it will go back to running great again. Very unpredicable.
Iv'e checked for air leaks at the intake boot, cleaned the carb several times, adjusted the air screw enough times to wear it out, replaced the reeds, and tested the compression (140 psi.).
Could it be the power-valve sticking open or closed?
Sounds like a float height problem. Or possibly something in the gas tank partially obstructing fuel flow. I would think a powervalve problem would be consistent, not intermitten. I suppose its possible though.
My powervalve stuck closed after it would heat up and not open again until it cooled completely down. It would run fine again then after about 10 minutes, it would stick closed. It heated and expanded causing it to stick, then cool which let it release again.
