Actually, I wasn't MIA, because I was out at Mirage on Saturday to do the GPS poker run. It looked like I wouldn't be able to do that either, because they only allowed teams (for safety reasons), but at the last minute, I was able to get the OK to run it on my own. I set out to find the first set of coords, looking for someone to be standing out there and handing out cards. After several gruesome climbs in search of it, I gave up the first one and decided to go for #2. When closing in on #2, I saw a couple of riders dismounted near the trail. As it turns out, the cards at each location were stashed in plastic bags, typically hidden behind a rock or bush about 100 feet off the beaten path. Doh. :moon: Baggie #3 - No cards in this one, so someone must have taken a mittfull (only supposed to take one) Baggie #4, 5 and 6 weren't too hard to find, but it became apparent that riders were taking cards to make their best hand (and taking more than one to achieve it). Oh well, this is only a poker run - I guess anything goes. Baggie #1 - Finally found it and returned to camp. As it turns out, the winner got a straight flush. The GPS event was like a high tech Easter egg hunt, but I still enjoyed it. After the GPS run, I went out and hammered a few whoops, but I could last only a couple of miles, so I decided not to enter the next days enduro. Too bad, because Mirage is one of my favorite events. RMJeff was out there with his new CRF450, but his son's KX100 ate a piston, so he had to leave before the kid's event. Oh yeah, there were never any cards in baggie #3 - the organizer's left that bag empty (to confuse people). :thumb:
