Tach or oil/water temp gauge

I just bought a new to me '99 WR 400. I was wondering if anyone has hooked up any type of tach or small oil or water temp gauge? If not how do you tell if the bike is running hot? or cool? I know on Harleys they make a dipstick with a temp gauge in it, I did not know if anyone made such an item for the WR. I thought the tach might just be cool to have on the bike. Thanks for any info.

I ride an Xr 650 that carries the oil in the frame. I use an XR's Only oil dipstick with a temp guage that appears very reliable. I don't know how the Yamaha is designed but you might check out their website to see if you can adapt something to your bike. And if you find a water temp guage that works on dirt bikes, let me know 'cause I want one. I've posted the water temp guage question here before with no suggestions other than the temp stickers that I've seen before but not tried.
