Taking apart the wheels?

I may be getting my Excel rims anodized black and I wanted to know how difficult it is to get the spokes off. Is this an fairly straightforward job or is it a pain in the a$$? What is the procedure/steps to taking them off and putting them back on correctly? How difficult is it to get the tires off?
Any ideas/hints greatly appreciated?

I saw a recent thread on here that had some links. If you do a search on wheel lacing you should be able to find it.

I think it would look sweet it u left the spokes and hubs on and took out all the bearing n' stuff, and had it all anodized black

interesting?! not sure how a cast aluminum hub would look though..
