Hey guys. For starters i'm 6'5 around 240lb and VERY new to riding bikes. My friend had a small ( compared to me, perfect for him ) honda something. I'm not sure how many guys saw it but it was the same one in that honda commercial that some guy ( a pro rider i forgot his name ) with a whole family is at the track ( that was the focus of the commercial, being able to provide bikes for everyone in the family. It was red with white and black in it ( i believe yellow letters was somewhere in there ).
Anyway my friend had that same one and i think it said 1000 on the side eh. I rode it for about 2 hrs ( first time ever on a bike ). Besides it being hella small it was fun. I learned a lil about gear switching and just the joy of riding had me hooked instantly. Until the time i was at a red light, gassed it too much, let off the clutch too quick, did a wheelie, somewhat fell off the back, still holding on to the handle bars, ( couldnt reach the back brake because it was so small ) slammed back down, swirved and crashed into the side
of a car. I and the car survived with just some scratches but i wasn't discouraged as i saw it as just something that happens to newbies. LOL i wanted to get right back on the bike 20 minz later.
Anyway, the choices i've gathered from searching are:
1: KDX200 or 220. I've heard so many good things about this model bike from almost every beginner thread i've read.
2: xr250. I don't know what company makes this bike, saw it in a thread or two.
3: 250F. I don't know what company makes this bike either. I saw it in a thread for a guy that was 6'+ 230+ and just threw it in the list. The quote was " You'll be alot happier and learn alot faster on a 250F. and it's easier to ride.
I think with your height and weight, a 250F would be a better choice. "
Alright well those are the most bikes i've seen throughout my searches. As for what i want out of the bike: Just something to really learn how to ride on. I may take it for some trails ( which is about the utmost i'll be doing ), but mainly just for transportation and to gain riding experiance.
Geez, this was quite a long post but i'd really appreciate it if you guys can help me out.
TIA
