Im 6'1 and ride a 00 cr 250. I feel im a little to far bent over when i ride and was wondering what effects of higher handlebars will have. I have protapers right now but i dont know what bend they are, im guessing not that high since the previous owner was very short. Can you go to high? Would higher bars give your more leverage for bike control in midair. I was looking at the pastrana 4 inch rise protapers. But i dont want to feel like im riding a chopper when i sit, but the higher bars are partly to get my butt of the seat some more.

Let me know what your ideas are.

Thanks

I have a CRF450R and I use the Doug Henry bend of protapers. They are fairly flat and have about a 2.5+ rise to them. I am a bit over 6'1" and they work good on the CRF. Those Pastrana bars are like ape hangars. I have also found that many people will tell you to rotate the bars far forward but I think a more neutral position works best overall. I have mine just about in the middle and I am comfortable.

I'm 6'3" and found the Henry's to be too low so I put the Windhams on there which are taller but are pretty close in style. the extra height is awesome and have only noticed minor differences in handling. The henry's were lower which means they felt longer and gave me more leverage going into corners. The Windhams don't have the same length so not as much leverage but most people won't even notice this.

I'm 6'1" or so and have Renthal Cr-highs on my crf and had them on my cr. They make alota difference for being comfortable. I rotate mine slightly forward to open things up even more. I also have the fastway footpegs in the lowboy position so that helps too.
