taming an rm250?

after talking, my dad said that he might be looking into getting a dirtbike, i was EXTATIC(because i knew i would be the one looking, i love doin that idk why). So speak of the devil theres an rm250 down the street for sale. I rode my bike(pedal bike) down to check it out, it looks OK from the outside, the guy didnt even bother to wash it first :coocoo: , theres afew bumps,knicks, and scratchs on the expansion pipe as well as the exausht pipe. From the graphics it looks to be a 98' or a 99'. Now my dad will probly be using it half the time and the other half ill probly be riding it, and im not the largest person in the world(5'7'' 115lbs) so is there any cheap way to ''tame'' it down abit? Also he's selling it for $2000 best offer, now is that like 800 bucks over priced or am i crazy?

Give him a 1000 and hope for the best.

tame it down with gearing (smaller rear sprocket and/or bigger front) changes and a flywheel weight (usually a 9 or 11oz is the go).
