well, one of 'em. now I just have to get teh KDuX going.

IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!

I took it out for the first time today to work some kinks out (of me not the bike ), and tweak so setting on the carb and suspension.

first the good....

The RS-3 pipe REALLY makes this thing rev crazy fast. I know there are better ones out there, but for $300 used from fleabay, whaddya want. It sounds cool, as for overall performance gains, My butt dyno says the stocker had slightly more off the bottom. but once you get into the meat of the rev range gains are dramatic.

The RG3 Showa 47mm USD forks have a really good "planted" feel to them. But my ride time is limited, so as I get them dialed in, I'll be able to give more info.

The Ohlins shock is PLUSH... no way to describe it other than that. you dont even notice it's back there doing its job. I't THAT good. no harshness, or pogoing, or anything else, This thing needs no adjustment. it was perfect as delivered to my door.

Now the not so good....

Machesini is moving into the Brembro facility in Italy, so ALL orders have been put on hold. The word from ECW is any where from 2-4 more weeks before THEY receive them, then another week before I can get them. I'm starting to think I should have just taken the black ones he had in stock.

I NEEED a steering damper at 70+MPH the front end on this thing starts to convulse like an epileptic at a baptist revival. I've NEVER had head shake like this before. it's actually quite unnerving at highway speed, it's that bad.

All in all, this was a good mod project, I still have some bugs to work out as far as settings to get it dialed in, but other wise, this has been an increrdible change to me '01 "S" model. it in no way feels anything like the bike I parked in November. The suspension itself is IMO the best money I've spent to date. Everything else is just gravy.

Try sliding the forks down in the tripple clamps to reduce the headshake. That will help some. On my old 95 YZ250 I would have to slide them down flush when I went to the Dunes. Due to the speeds involved headshake was bad if they wern't flush. But I had to push them up like 3/16 for track and trailriding otherwise the front end would push.

Oh and the bike looks good. Probably feels good to be back on the street dont it. You should come over this way on May 7th in the AM. Ya can go on the spring run with me. Its a road ride put on by the Muskegon Motorcycle club. There are hundreds of bikes that do this. They completely dominate the road. Police monitor road crossings so when the bikes come thru we have the right of way regardless of lights of stopsigns. Its quite a site if you have never been on it before. People line the overpass's to watch the bikes come thru.

I should be riding my Katana this weekend. I got it all together last night. Just needs a little minor tweaking and its good to go. Good thing too cause I dont know if I can deal with the gas prices much longer. 50mpg is way better than 16 in my truck.

Awesome looking bike! Yeah, I'd agree with YZMAN, looks like you've got those forks up pretty high. I'll bet you won't have to go all the way down like he said to get the shakes out.

YZMAN, that spring run - sounds interesting - where's it start, what time?

Starts at Mt Garfield. Im not exactly sure what time it is at though. Its early. You need to be there like 8:00am or sooner. They have coffie and doughnuts there while you wait. Ill try to get more info on when it starts. If you start at Mt Garfield with all of them there is a small fee like $5.

sounds like a plan, I'm in.

the head shake thing is from me applying too much pressure to the bars at speed. if I litterally "let go" it stops.

And BTW, Don, I reconsidered "that other thing" we talked about... to much of a commute.

that one dead soldier revivved. now for the KDuX and the polaris.

Ahhh you were death grippin the bike. That will do it.

Yea I thought that would be one hell of a comute. but then again we have folks here that comute from GR, Freemont, Whitehall. Crazy I say.

I am thinking of taking the kid with me for the spring run. But I may not. Its nice to get out on my own once in a while. I may bring him to the Blessing of the bikes though. I am thinking of trailering the Can-a-tuna up to the cabin the night before then head over to the blessing from there. Ya are welcome to join.

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet, have you taken it off any sweet jumps :rotfl: hehe

i like it the black plastic is nice, and the rs3 looks good just dont head off a trail like i did 2 weeks after i got mine and crush the nozzle on it :bang: :bang: . so are your other rims for the full super moto set up.

you will have to ride with us on the weekends in the twistys with that once you get some street tires on it, and some out to some track days at grattan with it.
