Of all the bikes that you have bought and sold over the years....was there ever a bike you wished you never sold?

I can't count the number of times I've heard "That was the best bike, I should have never sold it".

My last bike, before the XR, was a 1974 Yamaha DT125 so I have never wished I had it back:think

I was paid for the bike , over twice what I had in it.

I sold my first bike 85xr100.. I wish I never sold that thing - Hindsight being 20/20 and all I could have used it for teaching... I could have taught my wife on it and now I have a 6 month old baby boy .. another couple of months and he'll be ready to learn

At or DT

First bike...1969 AT125
Second bike 1974 DT125
Wow what an improvement:confused:
Actually the DT was ported and it had a Hooker header(remember those???) so the motor was a real screamer anyways!!!
Used to piss off my friends with their "modern" MX bikes:p

Would love to see these bikes in my garage again. However my DRZ makes up for some of the tears shed...

89 TZ 250 Chassis with a Harry Lilly SRX 600 motor.
Had Kozman Wire wheels & 1 13.5" Iron front brake rotor.

You could throw it into a corner to full lean & just change your line as needed.

Whhhy, oh whhhhhy did I ever sell it. I am such an idiot.

I have to agree, no regrets.. But I do sometimes miss my 1980 CT70 (3-speed automatic clutch) that I sold for $300, and my 1994 KX500 that somebody took for free.

Only one I really regret selling was the 1972(?) YZ360 with the strap on the aluminum tank, monoshock, magnesium carb, cases and wheels - 20lbs lighter than my buddies MX250. Didn't know what I had.

There ain't never been another one like it

1968 Honda CT90 "step-thru" with a white fairing. 3 speed automatic (centrifugal clutch) with a "heel click" shifter. One back on the heel for 1st, step thru neutral and bang it again for 2nd and hit 'er the final time for 3rd. If you achieved "expert" class on this machine, you could bang thru netural and go into 2nd, without letting off the gas, and the solid front wheel would come off the ground about 3" !!! Major air back in '68. Very fond memories of my first broken bone when I looped it out on an uphill ! Now - Am I showing my age or what ? My hair didn't get this color on it's own !

I miss my first bike, 82 MX 100, It would be a great girl friend trail bike, At the time I sold it for an upgrade so no real regrets.
My IT 250 AKA the Iron Horse, was a great bike, I beat the poo out of it real hard and it always ran and I put very little $ into it. I think I sold it for more than I paid for it 4 years later :). Its still not as good as my spare bike 89 YZ 250 wich owes me nothing as well so I dont regret selling it.
If I ever sell the WR 400 I may regret it, unless what ever I get next is WAY better.
I suppose its important to sell your beloved bikes for even better bikes and not cause you need rent or a dumb house or a car or somthing,,,,, that way there is peace not pain :) .

I'm with dkmccarty5 on this - my first bike was a CT90, and I only got rid of it because
a) the fotpegs had broken off from jumping it, and
b) Kiwi made me an offer on his TM250 that I couldn't refuse (hey, he financed me into it !)

Having said that, I really, really, miss my TM400 ... I learned sooo much from that bike (and still have the scars to prove it !).

I still have fond memories of all my Huskies - mainly for their fine handling rather than the (sometimes) tempermental starting.

1988 KX 125. I loved that bike.

The fastest bike I ever owned was a 1988 KX250 that I bought from TUF racing. It was Keith Bowen's SX bike minus the suspension. That bike was the deal!

Best Bike I Owned

The best bike I ever owned was my old 1972 Hodaka, Combat Wombat. Most people probably dont remeber these but them and its brother bike the Super Rat were great desert racing bikes. Of course that was back in the DRA days (before District 37). That polished chrome gas tank and 125 engine was bullet proof.
