“THE MOTOCROSS FILES” BEGINS PRODUCTION OF SEASON TWO WITH SEVEN NEW EPISODES FOR SPEED
Lucas Oil leads sponsorship of breakthrough documentary series with Troy Lee Designs, Pro Taper and One Industries providing additional support
ONTARIO, CALIF. (August 16, 2006) – Recently, production has begun on the second season of the widely acclaimed The Motocross Files (MXF) to begin airing this fall on Speed and to continue for at least 14 consecutive weeks. The new season of MXF again takes an up close and personal look at the history of seven more of motocross’ pioneers with interviews, archival footage and photos with unique, high-end production values that sets the show apart.
The new season of MXF will feature Tony DiStefano, Jimmy Weinert, Jeff Ward, Broc Glover, Marty Tripes, Danny LaPorte and the late “First American” of motocross, Jim Pomeroy. Production is also underway for an episode on David Bailey. Supporting interviews from returning MXF interviewees Keith McCarty, Dave Arnold, Jim Felt, Bill Buchka and Bevo Forti plus new comments by Roy Turner, Mike McAndrews, Jon Rosenstiel, Larry Huffman, Johnny O’Mara, Bob Hannah, Rick Johnson and many more.
“We recently got back from shooting many of the mechanics as well as Tony D., the ‘Jammer’, Jimmy Weinert, Marty Tripes, Broc and Wardy. All I can say is that we are blown away with the stories that are here.” said Todd Huffman, Producer and Creator of MXF. “Season Two is shaping up to rival and exceed the quality of the first season.” Huffman added.
Lucas Oil Products of Corona, CA has again stepped up with another substantial contribution to supporting MXF on the air with Speed. Lucas is the lead sponsor for the production and will be running new 30-second spots during the airings of MXF.
“We knew when we first saw this show concept last year that it would be something that would resonate with a wide audience. Speed’s renewal just confirms our opinions about the show’s quality and importance to our motorcycle and automotive consumers.” Said Bob Patison, Executive Vice-President of Lucas Oil Products, Inc.
Troy Lee Designs, one of the original sponsors of season one is returning, along with ProTaper Handlebars and new advertiser, One Industries who is supporting the David Bailey episode when it airs.
The new season will begin airing on Speed primetime with additional airs every week beginning late November and running through April of 2007. The home dvd versions of all 12 episodes will also start to be marketed and released in conjunction with the show’s airings. The home dvd’s will include the original Speed episode plus over three hours of additional raw interviews from the main subjects and the mechanics.
