[QUOTE="WomanRider, post: 1295136, member: 71078"] OK, Fred, I have had time to get over the difficulty of the trail. I feel better about riding a tight trail, now that it is over. YES, you are correct that longer breaks would have been made the day much better. After the first loop, I did not have time to eat lunch, and by the time I got to the restart I was having a sugar low. It was the first time in the last 4 years I had one. I was shaking and could not think straight. I am surprised I made it to the restart OK. Luckily Rita had a power bar and offered it to me. I waited for TJ and made him ride with me for the remainder of the race. I left the restart 7 minutes late. By the time I got to the easy stuff I had no energy to enjoy it. Heck I did not have any energy to even get off my bike and walk across the road. I did not even care if I was disqualified. I just rode in survival mode. This was a mental and physical race for me that I was not prepared for. Longer breaks would have made the day more enjoyable. But you have to remember at 12MPH there are breaks built into the ride automatically, that the promoter does not account for. I still do not think if the first section had been 12mph there would have been time to take small breaks. I do not think I was able to get the bike moving faster than 7mph in the tight stuff.
