Thinking about running a blackjack enduro

Hey guys. I'm pretty sure I'm going to enter an enduro. Since this will be my first time I'm looking for some pointers.

What class should I run in. I'm way slow and this is my first one. C?

Do I need to worry about timekeeping? I have the computer on my KTM and am really comfortable using it to track distance, average speed and time. I was just thinking about using it and notes (or a rollchart).

Is there any special equipement I should need? Maybe an oversize tank?

I know these questions are really stupid, but I would rather look dumb here than at the enduro. thanks.

Enter one of the C classes, don't worry about time keeping.....find someone on your row that knows how to keep time and just don't pass them, you'll need to bring a gas can for the gas stop, put hand guards on your bike and wear a camelback full of water.

I did a couple of the Blackjack races last year and had a blast.

Scipio was qualifier format so time keeping equipment isn't needed for those. Blackjack Ranch was a true enduro and it would have been nice to have had a computer but if you do as justice29 said you can have fun without it.

Also pay attention to who is in the row ahead of you. If you know they are a good rider and you catch them ease up, you probably caught them because your going too fast.

If you get there early and ask around usually people are really helpful about offering to let you ride on their row and key off of them as long as your not in their class.

You should ride the Golden Eagle in Stillwater. I always work that one. It is another qualifier format.

BlackJacks, a blast ask for one of the back row's so you don't have alot of guy's passing you
and alot of the race's have mile marker's that tell you what the time should be when you
pass them.A $5.00 wal-mart watch on handelbar set back 1mintue for each row. If your
on row 49 you want your watch 49 minutes slow, then when you pass a mile marker you
will know how your doing.

If you're going to Scipio, let me know. Dwreck's got a can't miss conflict, so you can have his spot on our row. Bryan and I planning on going, so far.
Saturday's a qualifier, so there won't be any timekeeping. We'll stay together until we hit a 'check-in'. At the end of the test section, we'll gather up again, and trail ride to the next race part.
Sunday will be a timekeeper, so we'll be figuring out what to do on the fly. Bryan got an ICO computer, and I have a Watchdog. Bryan's faster than me, so he'll be leading the row.

Wow Frank...haven't seen you in ages. Glad to see you are getting back into the dirt again. I used to live in OKC and we rode together a few times. How is that youngest of yours doing?
