Thor Scattershield? Good/Bad?
Elbow or Shoulder guards? I have a Scattershield and like it for woods riding. However, it doesn't have elbow guards and the shoulder guards only offer limited protection. There is a large gap between the top of the shoulder guard and the neck area that the occasional tree will hit if you turn in to soon. There is also a gap in the side rib cage area that offers no protection. These are the two biggest weaknesses and should be considered prior to purchase. The pros are that in cooler weather I wear it under the jersey but over a tee shirt or sweat shirt. This limits limbs/etc. from snagging the chest protector. It also offers maximum movement when worn over or under the jersey. It does a good job with roost and limbs that try to poke you in the tight stuff. If you are looking for maximum protection there are certainly better protectors out there, as Nikki and Jaybird suggested. :thumb: Good Luck, Scott
