Just recently re-jetted my 2004 KDX 200 and I noticed a spring clicking sound coming from the needle/slide when opening the throttle. The throttle twist is a little jerky and a click can also be felt in the twist grip. Re-installed it and it persists. My son's xr 80 is silent and smoother when opening the throttle - it does not have this spring coiling-clicking sound. Is this normal or is the spring somehow twisting and binding as I am screwing the needle/slide assembly onto the top of the carb? Seems to run OK, just curious about this.
Thanks

I've had this problem before. Take the carb cap off and make sure that the tab on the white plastic thing at the end of the spring fits into the groove on the cap. That should clear it up.

kdxruss good job man
how bout my fork spring noise since the racetech spring install??
I had this problem as well when I installed my springs from FRP. I did not do anything about it and it worked it self out I guess. Looks like you have your answer.
Happy trails! Russ
