My yz250 fell off of the trailer this weekend damaging a few parts, one thing I want to ask you guys is if you have had any luck having the throttle slide welded back together? mine broke off right where the cable enters the slide housing.. Thanks Jeff.
Do you mean the actual carb body? Or the slide itself?
The carb body is zinc or magnesium and is a tricky weld at best. If the crack extends into the slide bore it will have to be machined after welding and that is assuming you would find anyone WILLING to weld it. Buy a new carb.
The slide is steel or aluminum, and usually parkerized or teflon coated and pretty damn precise so I would replace it with a new part.
