You can ruin a pipe in just a few minutes if you don't keep an eye on it. I have fixed several bike expansion chambers with the oxy-acetylene torch, and compressed air. Rubber freeze plug from the auto parts store in the head pipe, and a valve stem from a car, stuck in a piece of heater hose, clamped to the stinger.
