I hope this thread will stay open..but if it doesn't, no big deal. I recently was given a 91 Geo Metro, that runs..but needs to be rebuilt. For those of you that don't know, this car is powered by a Suzuki 3cyl street bike motor (see it sort of relates to motorcyles). I've got the rebuild kit comming in on monday (all new bearings, rings, seals, gaskets, valves) and am getting ready to pull the motor tomorow. Shouldn't be that hard..since my friend and I can lift the front end off the ground without any problems. My question is about removing and reinstalling the cam (I plan on replacing the valve seals and valves). Since this is an OHC motor, whats going to happen when I unbolt the bearing caps holding the cam in? Is the cam going to pop up at me...and possibly flex? When reinstalling it, will I have to compress the springs somehow? Thanks.
