Hi All:
Just put the head back on my '01 KDX220R. Torqued the head nuts to 23 ft/lb rather than the recommended 18 ft/lb. Should I take it back apart and put in a new head gasket and torque to 18 ft/lb or just leave it alone?

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Chris

Leave it there. but from now on you'll have to torque at 23 all the time or until you change your nut and stud, you will see very soon if you have to replace the gasket just start the machine and leave your rad cap open, if you dont see any black buble comming out or excessive humidity out of tail pipe your OK jump on it and VRRRROOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi:
Thanks for the reply but I already took it back apart and replaced the head gasket and torqued to 18 ft/lbs.

I think I'll be OK. I don't think I'll need to change the nut and studs...

Thanks again!
Chris
