Trail Tech Computer

I have some info regarding the calibration of the Trail Tech Computer. After using the calculating numbers provided in the instructions, the Digital Speed did not seem to coincide with the approximate visual speed. I used the stock odometer to calibrate the computer. Set the Wheel Size to 2205mm and then drive a known distance (I used 1 mile) Multiply these two numbers 2205 * 1.00 then divide by the milage displayed on the Trail Tech (My case was 2.05 miles) 2205*1.00/2.05=1021mm (Approximate) I then used GPS to verify the speed & the stock Odometer to verify the milage & its seems to be close to dead on. I emailed Trailtech about this huge discrepancy and am awaiting an answer. Just some info for you guys to check your computer, because I doubt I'm the first.Trail Tech recommended the W/S @ 2110mm(NOT). It is a nice setup though :cool: :ride:

The install is not that bad, but if you have an odometer unit w/the bike use that to help verify. Also try my settings if you have a 21 inch front w/rotor. If the sensor & magnet were placed along the area of the rims then the instructions would make more sense since the full rotation of the tire would be in play, but since the sensor & magnet are in the rotor area the circumference is smaller. FYI One computer is programed to be used on two different bikes

Mine is set as they recommend. It passes at the tip. If you hav'nt checked the odometer w/your stock try it. Everything worked fine but I know I was not doing 75 in 4th :laugh:

I adjusted the sensor this morning. Now the instruction numbers make sense & work, GPS had me at + - 1mph & the odometer seems to be pretty close now. :think:
