Me thinks Yamaha has put them selves in a catch 22 situation with the YZ250. If CR races the aluminum frame 250 and gets beat, everybody is going to say it is the bikes fault, and sales will probably suffer. If CR races the steel framed bike no matter how he finishes sales will suffer.

I can't see Yamaha allowing Reed to race the steel frame under any circumstances. Another angle on this would it be legal for reed to run the steel frame? The production rule requires the bike to be production based, so unless Yamaha convinced the AMA that Reed's racing an 04 I would think the bike would be illegal. Not sure how this would play with the MC issue and the 93 frame? What was this thread originally about anyway? talk about a hijack

he will race the alloy frame-the initial report on the yz are not great ,but that doesnt mean its a bad bike-the push and harshness maybe all suspension related and that doesnt mean nothing to a works rider-he will have his own special setup.
