Trying to choose a 125....HELP!!!

OK, so, i'm 5'9 about 150-160 pounds. I want a two stroke, 125, and i'm not sure what to get. I plan on racing at the local tracks and riding in the woods w/ my friends.I have quit a bit of experience and i ride aggressivly, but smooth. I'm looking for a new bike thats smooth but fast....someone help!
I would ask my friends, but non have a 125 and they all ride honda!?!

Get a 01 or newer yz 125, great bike plenty already said on this topic, do a search on yz125, i dont think you could go wrong with the YZ. I know someone who is selling one in michigan if you are near there.

Nah, I live in Louisiana. I'm open for any type of 125, i just want to see what you guys think.... I plan on getting a brand new bike...or if i can find a bike w/ a bunch of aftermarket stuff as old as 04

If you are planning on buying new, you owe it to yourself to go and ride a yz125 and a KTM 125SX. I haven't ridden the new yz, but the KTM sure does have quite a motor for a 125.

The newer yz's have always been good, so you can't go wrong with the yamaha. I havent rode the 06 model, but it wins all the magazine shootouts so i'm assuming its good. The only 06 model I've ridden is the cr...and i wasn't impressed at all...it seemed really down on power.

If you want smooth I would probably stay away from the rm's as well...all the powers on the top end, without much bottom. From what i've heard the ktm has the best 125 motor out there...i've never got the chance to ride any ktm's...they're not real popular around here :(

yea, i've never riden the KTM's either :ugg: But they always look really awsome, and everyone i talk to who has one say they ove it.

I've ridden a KTM125 and a YZ125, the motor in the KTM is amazing for a 125 engine. But they are kind of steep on the prices compared to Yamaha.

Yea, i went look at some aftermarket stuff for KTM earlier, and depending on what website you go on depends on what stuff is higher, some sites it was and others it was equal.
