I just replaced the 28mm stock carb on my '74 Suzy TS250 with a 30mm carb. The top end is new, with a new piston and rings and a freshly bored cylinder. I'm getting a sputter and loss of power. I'm thinking it may be the jets on the new carb, but I'm open to suggestions. The stock jets in the 28mm were #25 pilot and #180 main. The 30mm has #35 pilot and #190 main. Could the sputtering be the engine gasping for more fule? It seems to happen most at higher rpm. The bike has good power and torque at lower rpms, but it sputters when I open it up. The spark unit was just replaced with a new (used) one, but it seems to be OK. The bike starts and runs with it. Ideas, anyone?
