This seems to be a trend. I mean, getting a TTR125 and then outgrowing it. A fellow is coming to take away mine tomorrow morning for his very excited 9 year old son. I'm sad...

...but not that sad because I took my new Gas Gas Pampera to the mx track today and had a TOTAL KICK like I've NEVER HAD BEFORE!!! AHHHH!!!! I know the Pampera has a reputation for not having the same beefy suspension as the typical race-oriented enduro bikes out there, but THAT PAMPERA ROCKS if you're my size! I hit the jumps harder than I ever had before and never even came close to bottoming out! Riding a 250cc 2-stroke at the mx track ROCKS WAY COOL MAJOR WHAAA!!!

Oh. Sorry for that outburst. Back to the question at hand... If you felt comfortable on the TTR125, then you might also like the Gas Gas Pampera because of it's light weight, small dimensions, and low-end tourque. However at 5'6" tall you have a LOT more options than that. Your profile says you ride trail. So maybe sit on a few 4-stroke bikes in the 200 to 250cc range and then maybe try the KDX200, which I hear is very nice for trails. See what feels good to you and that you can pick up and start yourself (important).

Hmmm, that couldn't possibly be due to the fact you couldn't weigh more than 80lbs soaking wet! ;) jk CJ, I'm glad you're having such a great time on your new bike. I'd like to check one out sometime. Too bad you're not coming to Reno. :(

dirthappy, how long have you been riding? If you're riding trails I second the KDX200. Nice smooth ride. If you have the opportunity to try out different bikes I would suggest you try to plant your butt on as many as you can to get a feel for what you might like. :)

LOL! I’ve weighed in the triple digits ever since Thanksgiving!

Promise I'll bring the little GG to the NEXT spodefest so folks can try it out. It's different. I was a bit surprised to show up at the BLM lands in Pueblo on Sunday to find two other folks on little GGs just like mine... only cleaner and less caked with mud. I looked over and saw the fellow doing a controlled rolling stoppie down a slope that I had to think twice about riding UP. (My jaw just kinda hung open there for a minute in disbelief.) I think that's where this little GG rules more than on the motorcross track if you are a normal-sized human being or spode.

Wow, CJ, good to hear you're that excited over the new bike. I looked at one at the Seattle MC Show last weekend--they look pretty sweet! If I could have a MX bike and a woods bike, I'd have a KTM 125 SX and that Pampera. The ideal combination. :) Anyway, give us lots of new baby pictures and ride reports.

WHAT BIKE

Hi everyone,
I suggest you get a Kawasaki KLX 250 four stroke.
I am 5'10 and 12.5 stone age 15 and that thumper is brilliant it gets me all over in the woods. In and out of bogs.
I also ride motocross with it. I hit jumps and it never bottoms out.
I have raced a CR125 and KX 250 and won both of them. I also raced a WR 200 and one that to.
Get one best bike i have ever had.

The Pampera truly is an incredible bike, every time I go out I have fun, and am so impressed with what the bike is capable of. So before you drop 6 grand into a TTR125, check out your options. If you are young and still growing, then the KDX200 or Gas Gas200 EC are great bikes, also good for racing. If you like to have fun, trail ride, and race a little, then give the Pampera a bash. The Pampera is unlike any 2 stroke I have ever ridden, lots of low down torque, no wild hit, a very rideable bike. Theengine breaking on a downhill puts a big smile on my face, and the bike is a real mountain goat on the hills thanks to the trials engine, can't wait to hear what Katie has to say when she gets hers :)

Yeah CJ, it a rip ain't it. I guess you had your own mini Pampera fest then this weekend ?!
