[QUOTE="Senior KX Rider, post: 660604, member: 16694"] racerx 2003 Maxxis U.S. Open to Air on SPEED Channel LAS VEGAS - Clear Channel Entertainment’s Motor Sports division announced today the 2003 Maxxis U.S. Open at the MGM Grand Garden Arena October 10-12 will air on SPEED Channel Saturday, October 25, from 8:00 -10:00 p.m. EST. The traditional 90-minute television show for the Maxxis U.S. Open has been expanded to two hours of bar-to-bar racing. “This two-hour, action-packed program on SPEED Channel has a field of riders chasing down the $300,000 purse at this no holds barred event,” said Ken Hudgens, vice president of marketing, Clear Channel Entertainment - Motor Sports. “With a tremendous line-up of riders, including Ricky Carmichael, Chad Reed and Mike LaRocco, this should be a great event on SPEED. We are excited to expand our relationship with SPEED Channel, and taking the coverage from 90 minutes to two hours should enable us to cover more of the action.” "The thing that differentiates SPEED Channel from many other sports cable networks is our desire and ability to broadcast the definitive events in our arena," said SPEED Channel President Jim Liberatore. "The Maxxis U.S. Open certainly fits that model and we are excited to bring this quality event to our viewers." Robbie Floyd, Davey Coombs and Cameron Steele will call the race action. The highly anticipated race between two-time Maxxis U.S. Open champion Ricky Carmichael, THQ World Supercross GP champion and AMA Supercross Series runner-up Chad Reed and defending Maxxis U.S. Open champion Mike LaRocco will give viewers two hours of pure excitement. The Maxxis U.S. Open, founded in 1998 is an invitation-only motocross race held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, featuring the world’s top supercross/motocross racers competing for $300,000 - the single largest payout in motorcycle racing. In addition to the premier open class of racing, the Maxxis U.S. Open also offers a variety of racing including minicycles and KTM Junior Supercross Challenge racing.
