You guys that are getting underpaid need to lay the smack down! Tough time to do that with the economy and all, but that sucks!
Sometimes just working less hours is the only way to even it out.
Yea, I know...easier said than done!
By the way, nothing against smokers, but if I owned a business, there's no way I'd let the "addicts" hang out around the front of the building! Talk about bad image!
What if you smoked and surfed DRN:eek: I don't smoke, but I to have to wade through our smokers crowd to get to the door. Our usage is monitered at work so my supervisior could check, but they don't care as long as work gets done. I surf on breaks or at lunch, but I try not to eat up much time. All told I think that I maybe spend .5 hours on DRN during work hours when it busy, and that'd not even every day. If I have no billable work then I spend more time.
Its funny that you bring this up. Everyone at our work was complaining to the IMS department about the internet being slow so they posted the top fifty sites that were surfed on a regular basis. One work related site was in the top ten. No porn at all(thats a good thing). I though that it was sad that with all the technical info on the net that yahoo sports was the number one. All of those people playing fantesy football and other sports. I'm the only one at work that surfs DRN so it did not register(thats a good thing) ;)
Hmmm...it's Saturday, 10:32 am, I am the scheduled manager this weekend, I finished all of my paperwork by 9:00 am ( I came in at 6:30:eek: ), and the only reason I have to stay is a manager is required to be here during working hours. What can I do to pass the time? Hey, I know! I'll waste company time surfing the net!;)
What amazes me, is like some people said in here. How smokers are always taking "short" breaks. So lets say for the day you get a 1 hour lunch and 2 15 minute breaks. Well if your a smoker its ok to throw in 4 extra "5" minute smoke breaks and its ok. Its like if you smoke you are entitle to more breaks. And they never are 5 minute breaks they are more like 15 minutes. And as for me I dont have computer access at work.
I know for a fact that some of the smokers are out for at least 2 hours a day smoking. Oh, cr@p I better get back to work my non-smokers break is over!
I am paid on straight commission so as long as my production
is not affected there shouldn't be a problem. That being said, my co. just installed a netnanny , but I still have access to DRN.
