You've no doubt heard of Red Velvet Cake*?

*Cake. Dirt on a motocross track that is so inviting, so luscious and forgiving, typically found only by those that are pitted and ready to go at sun-up.

Credit goes to Will Pattison who was the first I heard utter the word, one early morning years ago, looking out across the (in this case) Chocolate Cake that was Nacona MX.

It was like Milk Chocolate, not dark. It was freshly groomed and watered, the sun sparkling off the remaining droplets of moisture, low on the horizon just beginning to make it's daily journey to mid sky, where it would then beat down like some kind of focused hellfire, leaving only the most enduring (crazies) out there to do battle on the now dry, dusty remnants of what was only hours before... Cake.

In other words... that stuff was deep yo.

Trey Canard riding "at the house", somewhere in the middle of Oklahoma.

Excellent season for the Okie, a solid 3rd outdoors with no one (that doesn't win or eat it every weekend) behind him that can catch up ... a 2 year extension with big Red, life is good I'm guessing.

Hum.. Red bike, Red hair, Red cake? Coincidence? Maybe.
