You might consider joining the local off-road riding club, the "Family Riders". There are club members out there all the time at the forest you can hook-up and ride with, and you also get a chance to ride on some awesome trails on private land. We are also involved with volunteering and helping with trail maintenance and fighting with the local USFS to try to keep them from closing it every time it rains.
