my new 400 came with great little tool-kit, the explodo-diagram booklets for the engine and frame, clear booklets on setting the fork and shock ..... and a nice, high-quality Owner's Manual.

But.... the Owner's Manual only covers maintenance and external adjustment items.

What I need is a "shop manual" that details finding TDC, valve and carb adjustments, dis-assembly instructions, etc.

You know.... the kind that tells/shows you, "IMPORTANT - must remove *hidden* circlip before pounding shaft into mush in an attempt to remove."

(grin) Where to get? How much? Thanks! - E-T

So Do I !!!

I was told buy my local dealer, and another in TX, that there is finally a part # for the manual (engine service manual), but are now on backorder.

I am about to change my water pump seals, and all I have is 4 photocopied pages of an '00 manual. The water pump carrier changed in '02, so the process has become easier, so I am told. It would be nice to have a new manual to use as reference.

KTM-Lew can you PM me also?? ---> Thanks!

I too just bought a 2002 400MXC last week and was wondering the same thing. I need to find out how to do the valve adjustment.

KTM-lew, can you PM me too?:)

Also, how often are you guys adjusting your valves. I think the manual mentioned every 3 hours!
