THeres a new practice complex in Easton Md, called "the landing". They have several different areas. A beginner track, a peewee track, a **** track, an intermediate track, and an expert track.
Totally awesome.I went once. A friend of mine is a member, and has been there several times. We were running aound the beginners (not children's) track.(Yeah yeah i suck but I was on a 300 pound, 30 year old monster and that was all I was going to handle on it)
There were peewees on the beginners track, and Ive got no problem with that at all,if you can do it you can do it, but so many times, the kids almost got run over.
(Not by me, but my friend nearly got one. The kid was on the far outside coming up on a table top, and my friend took the other edge of the hill. While my friend was in air, the kid cut over almost under him! Then he told me last week, there was a peewee w/training wheels out there, dad jogging behind, who almost got creamed by a guy on a KX125.
The thing is they have a peewee track, yet they dont attempt to encourage the peewees to ride there.(no one ever does) Ill admit it sucks, the jumps are 12 inches high and the kids want a challenge... Yet they did kick another one of our guys off of the **** track, where there had been no ****s at all.
Theyve got to make the peewee track better, so the kids dont mind being there. THe only response we got from the track people was "well it says ride at your own risk", but damn, someones bound to get hurt.

Broken spokes has mixed rides also. Nothing like practicing moto while utility qyads are dicing back and forth.

we have sorta the same problem on our singletrack trails around here. parents ( inexperienced ones on low bore thumpers, no offence to any 4strokers, i still occasionaly ride one) take their kids on small lile xr's and ttr's and try and take them over logs that we have problems with on our 250's and 220's. i mean when your flying thru the trees hoping you have enough momentum to clear the creek or make it thru the mud bog, seeing some kid and their parent in the way and slamming your brakes avoiding hitting them ISNT fun, and then getting chewed out by the parents for "coming too close". i dont get it

My first time there was last week , is awesome. I thought the peewee track was closed because noone was on it until about 3pm? I rode on the beginners track too, but you got to expect the kids to do that. The only time I came up fast on them was to pass on the long flat section in back. I got kicked off the q u a d track too, nobody was even riding on it;) Check places to ride, couple of us going this weekend if you can make it!

THe landing is damn cool. Im getting too old to hit the neighborhood spots...THey're finally developing on the property I used to ride on, and they're getting crappy about us being there...Eastons only an hours drive for me. I will be going back for sure...but got to get thru xmas first...
Im gonna try to add some pics of my trip to the landing below...had my bighorn there, it was the first time Ive had this one out. A few bugs...boy is it nasty though! only thing is I could barely get into 3rd gear on the beginners track...you can see why I didnt wanna hit anyone...between me and that bike, we're talking some serious weight!!

gotta fix the images...my crappy server doenst allow "remote loading!?!?"" whatta crock...hmm heres a link...

Wanna know something even worse...

This track is one of my favorite tracks, but they need to keep the 50's off the track and drunk guys with kids too. Anyways...The track is in Thurston County Washington, and I was riding and it was pretty crowded, there is a really cool double section with a small double then a big double and then another small double. I was about to go over it and was looking ahead looking for smaller riders to make sure they weren't in my way rolling the doubles and there was 2(or so I thought), but they went around not over the doubles. I went over the first double, and as I was aproching the second double all of a sudden right in front of me a kid ona a pw80 or 50 poped up on the lander, and I had already taken of in 3rd gear going fast and I was like ooooohhhhhh S***!!!!! I whipped the bike as hard as I could to get to the left of him. The only problem is I can't do a WHIP more then 2 inches and get it back! I landed right behind the kid sideways and fliped off hitting the kid sending him off the track right next to his DAD thats right his DAD (Not a very smart man) broke my bike tearing up the whole left side of the plastic! Luckily me and the kid were both fine, but my bike wasn't. I was so mad at the dad for having that little kid on the track! If I weren't only 15 I would have yelled at him. I guess the kid fell in the middle of the big double and that is why he was in there so long, and why I didn't see him, and he was just getting up when I was coming in to the doubles. The dad wasn't even waving me off! he said he thought that his son would be out fast enough for me to just have to put on the brakes and not hit him! (GIVE ME A BREAK) My dad told him he should have a little kid on this track because the jumps are big and deep and this could have been a lot worse than it was. The other thing is there is a pee-wee track.

Also that same day there was a guy with a tiny little kid sitting on the gas tank of his bike as he rode around the track! They need to monitor the track better or someone is going to get hurt.Anyway I've let off enough steam.
