You will need to pull the side cover off, but if you've done a top end, this is probably a little more simple. I was unfortunate and replaced every part in my water pump except the impellar. Just make sure to look at a microfische and order all the parts you will need before hand. Also inspect the impellar shaft thoroughly b/c the worn seals tend to gouge the shaft quickly.
