in my manual for my RM85L, it says the jug(cylinder) should be tightened to 20 foot pounds and the top of the jug to 20.5. does this sound right? when i put the bolts back on with a torque wrench, they seemed a little to easy to put on, if you know what I mean. do these specs sound right? i know i should follow my manual, but I am looking for your opinion also.

Sounds right to me!

thank you so much, i was a little worried of one of the bolts coming loose, and distorting the cylinder. I am also very happy because i just found out from the mechanic that owns the shop where i am rebuilding my bike at, wants to hire me as an assistant mechanic as my first job! i will have to wait two more years to get my drivers license to get over there though. I usually won't be working on dirtbikes though, just harleys.

Are the values dry or with some form of lubricant / anti-seize?

That's a common mistake alot of people make, to overtorque things. There was just a thread about a stripped valve cover bolt on a crf. Now the entire head is junk unless he can get a helicoil to work. I see it all the time with body panel fasteners. A torque wrench and a manual are priceless.
