LAX shut due to possible security breach
Separate incident at screening station also under investigation
The Associated Press
Updated: 12:49 p.m. ET Sept. 4, 2004

LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles International Airport was shut down early Saturday because of a possible security breach and a separate incident at an international terminal security screening station, an airport spokesman said.

No information was immediately available on the incident at Tom Bradley International Terminal, airport spokesman Harold Johnson said.

Officials also did not explain the possible security breach that shut down terminals 6, 7 and 8. The terminals are connected.

Flights were not being allowed to depart, but inbound flights were being allowed to land, said Paul Turk, spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration. Passengers were not taken off the planes.

Traffic was being diverted from the airport.

Don't ask, I told him to sleep on the couch and he tried to sneak into my room, wearing a tutu. Here's proof of the tutu wearing, like anyone would question it. :yikes:

It has been an experience having Gomer at my casa (that's Spanish for house). I was wondering why he never went to the bathroom all day, now I know his secret. Busted!!

Well, my life is complete. I finally got to meet the famous High Lord Gomer. :yeehaw:
And I gotta say, I was not dissapointed.

Gomer wanted to ride in California so we asked him what kind of riding he wanted to do. He said he wanted to jump sumthin. So we took him to one of our local mx tracks.

We pulled in to the Elsinore MX track and parked in front of the track. You shoulda seen the look on Gomers face. :yikes: He said. " Man, this is some serious s**t".

Of course we were parked in front of the pee wee track. ;) When we took him over to the main track, I thought he was gonna jump right out of his tu-tu.

After a few laps he looked pretty comfortable and was getting it figured out. Thumbsy came out and I got some pretty good photos of him and Gomer jumping.

We finally got someone to wear the official So Wrecking Crew tu-tu. An of course it was only fitting that it was Gomer, the originator of the tu-tu tradition. Photos to follow.

It was great meeting you Mike. Hope you had fun. And remember, there are no places to ride in So Cal. That'll be our little secret. :rotfl:

Didn't get to show him too much Nat. I wanted to take him on some of the single track trails around my house, but he seemed a little intimidated. He said he was suprised by how steep the mountains were.

I didn't have the heart to tell him those were only the foothills and the real mountains were another 30 miles up the freeway. :yikes: BUUUWWWAAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAA!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh crap, I think I just wet myself. ;)

Maybe Gomer can hook you up with Depends :debil:

When Nikki and Red flew out for the Reno trip they were oggling all the trees and mountains on the way up I-80, so maybe it was the same for Mike? I don't know what kind of single track they have in SC.

His looked like Buckwheat when I showed him the back hill to my house, forget about the mountains!! I think he doesn't like speed cause the wind flips up his tutu and the world can see his cracked butt. One thing I do know is that he is a LYM deep down cause his rental car had a pair of cricket chasing cowboy boots and the radio was tuned to KMEX. My poor kids had to endure hours of Spanish too, they got pretty good after El Gomer left. Have to say though, it was a treat having him here, the culture he brought from South of the Border was incredible, Gracias Uncle Gomer.~~~

Tu familia es mi familia, mi hermano!

Well, I survived the SoCal Wrecking Crew! They did leave a few marks that might turn into scars, though. More lies, er, I mean stories, later. But for now, all of you non-SoCal riders can view with envy a picture of me and Thumbs right slap-ass dead center in the middle of the MX World:

Oops, that pic was too large. Ok, here's one I promised Ol89'r...One of where a bird must have flown over and dropped something on my (Elk's) helmet:

You'll have to post pictures for proof of this. Gomer's not much of a jumper! Unless of course it's the tutu that boosts his confidence!

It's too bad the boys didn't have time to show you the sandhill and the manzanita trail. Quite a view up there!

ktmboy.

I wish we would have had a little time to get the whole crew together. It was a real 'spur-of-the-moment' kinda thing. We were waiting for Gomer to finish his job in the South Bay before we could make any plans at all.

Next time he comes out, and there WILL be a next time, hopefully we will get a little warning so we can put a group ride together.

boomer.

I do have the photos to prove it. And they do include the tutu. Should have the film back on Friday.

Gomer.

You didn't take that dirt clod back home with you did you?? You know that's a federal offense here in Kalifornia don't you? :yikes:

Glad you had fun bud. We are already planning for your next trip out here. Hope you are too. ;)

I think the power of the YT skeered him a bit. It bucked him off just rolling through the pits, I guess that work I did to the front brake didn't pan out..... Nice form on the jumps there airgomer, I just about got impressed until I saw my spiffy new helmet with mud stuffed inside and out!LOL Glad you didn't wear my gear, you might have pooped in them, geesh!

My new title, "Master of the no-speed crash!"

That helmet did come in handy when there was a line at the porta-pottie as we were leaving... :uh:

I shrunk the pic down so it would fit... Thumbs and I were about the same speed so we had a blast going around the track side by side:

When I checked my bag containing the dirty riding gear at the airport, they asked if I had any compressed gasses in there. I said, "There's some gasses in there, but just the ones caused by my dirty clothes." She said, "I'm sure the people at the security checkpoint will appreciate that you checked that bag!"

I must say that I'm not a fan of riding at the track but I did have a blast as well. I got to look a Gomers rear tire most of the day with the exception on the one or two time that I managed to get by him.

"Master of the slow speed crash" .....lol. I thought it was strange when I looked back and you were still in the same spot but picking up the yellow turd from the ground.

It was nice to ride with ya Mike. Next time we will take you to some MOUNTAINS. What you saw were foothills.

BTW - Gomer shows his affection for you by grabbing your :moon:. Cought me off guard

It's looking as if those mountains will have to be in the Big Bear area seeing as our manzanita trails are burning up right now! :bang:
