Gets as big as his dad? Seriously, that guy has to be 250+. If Bubba inherited dad's genes, he won't be clearing that quad at Phoenix on a 125! He's really small right now, but do you think a big growth spurt is on its way? All I know is the kid is for real and is the funnest rider to watch I've ever seen.

Have any of you guys noticed the McGrath clan? Mc's dad is not a small fella, and the sis is not small either. and MC has allways had a plump little baby face. Just think 15 years from now he might be a big fella, look at Ron Leichein that boy packed on some extra.

But I don't think Bubba has anything to worry about as long as he keeps racing, now 20 years from now when he stops he might be in trouble.

It's not just weight, how tall is his dad? If he does have a big growth spurt how will it effect his bike control if he ends up 6'6" or taller.

no offense to the guy, cause he is FAST but he won't make it long if he keeps on wrecking as much as he does. but it sure shows your speed when you wreck on one of the first laps, end up in last and come back to 1st or 2nd.

Another one for ya... Tim Ferry's dad is a BIG guy, too. But I fit in Tim's riding pants - LOL!!

Bubba might get a little taller but I doubt he will gain the physique of Big James anytime soon.

He's 16, & looks nothing like his dad. I would guess he's not going to get that big. He's thin, & even short for his age, so I really doubt it. Anyone seen mom? I haven't.

Anyway, doubt it would make any diff if he became 200 pounds overnight. Look at Lechien now.:scream: He flies on a 125 (still).

I beg to differ. All those guys are tiny little people. David V and Pastrana may be the only real exceptions, but I don't think very many pros are over 5' 8"

Most of the current crop is pretty compact, but there have been some tall riders. Former 250 SX champ Mike 'Too Tall' Bell is reportedly 6'4", and I think Larry 'Big Bird' Ward is approx. 6'2" and he rides the 125 class.

If I remember correctly, Belgian rider Jack Van Velthoven was 6'5" and he was a GP contender in the '70's and rode on several MXdN championship teams.

CR Swade - LOL :)

Actually - he gave us a pair of pants at Steel City so my fiancé, Red, could have the "Reddog" patch off the butt. But it turned out that Ferry's 32's fit me - so now I wear them (nothing kinky - hehe):

Travis Preston is pretty tall, too. But there really aren't many "bulky" guys currently in the pro ranks. I mean the biggest guys are probbaly MC, Larocco, Tortelli... but I doubt any of them wear bigger that a 34 waist.

And Bubba's Mom is pretty small and petite. Seen her a few times at Loretta's and Mini O's.

It doesn't matter if his dad is big. It's all about if you stay in shape. If he stays active and works out after he is done riding and everything then he won't get big. If he does cardio workouts for the rest of his life at a good pace he will not get big. I used to be rather large myself and then I started working out and doing cardio stuff like running on the tredmill and doing the stairclimber, and I got skinny really fast. My dad started working out with me too who was starting to gain some wieght as he aged, and he also lost wieght very fast. So is all he would have to do to keep from getting big is stay active.
