i went to fix my front sprocket shaft seal leak, got the seal out but then noticed something weird. what is that thing that is broken off in the picture? from what i can tell it seems to be something for the bearings? it's like a wooden thing.
next question is....how do i remove that bearing to replace it?

Looks like the clip that helps hold the bearings in place.

It should be listed in your manual. If you don't have a manual you should get one.

RTFM will probably help you out a lot.

i have a manual for it but it said i need to split the case to get the bearing out to replace it....just wondering if there's any other way to get it out apart from splitting the case?

That is a set of bearings you have lost buddy. Fix it otherwise you will face a bit of wear and tear. Take it to an expert mechanic better. It can't be fixed without having a proper look.
