Just curious to what everyone on the average is running and what brands.I see some bikes smoke alot and others that hardly do.

I think most people run 32:1, which is a pretty safe bet. The smoking you see may be more a function of jetting than premix ratio. Also, riding slow for a long time without "cleaning it out" will load up a two stroke and cause it to smoke.

You are going the wrong way, langston.

Do a search and you will see so many posts on this it will make your head spin!

I guess since I chimed in here I should give you my take....I run 24-26:1 on 125's and no less than 32:1 on bigger bikes. Mobil1 MX2T

I have run 40:1 since 1978 and have never had any fuel related problems. Currently I use Honda HP2 with the highest octane pump gas I can find (usually 93). Also I run the old fuel in my chain saw and weed wacker. :flame:

Ok, I definetly agree with Jaybird on this. Anyless than 32:1 I wouldn't use.
MX2T here also,.
80's: 25:1
125's: 28:1
250's: 32:1
500's: 32:1
Thats my scale

You should not find a ratio to suit your bikes jetting. Rather, you should jet your bike up to suit the ratio and conditions.
More oil is better, in my mind.

It also depends on your riding. If you rev the engine high alot and ride aggressivly, then 32:1 or less is good. But I run 40:1 becuase I dont ride aggresively and usually keep the rpms pretty low.

I use my throttle like an off on switch at 40:1 with no problems, maybe just luck. :thumb:

32:1 MX2T here

I picked 32:1 because it wont break the bank (less costly oil) and it provides a good amount of protection.

I wonder what the factory teams run, it would make for an intresting comparsion

Motul 800 2T Racing
66,7 : 1 (1,5% which is what they recommend) in a 250cc bike

I know that the racing teams don't use more than 1%. They change a lot of parts, though...

25/1 Yam 2R. I know Randy Lawrence reported mixing 32/1 for the YZ250 when he was McGrath's mechanic. Quite far from 1%.

I very much doubt that ANY race team is running at 100:1 since there is performance to be gained with more oil.

Read eric's article on his site about premix - use the oil manufacturer's recommendation - not the bike manufacturer - AMSOIL Series 2000 50:1

ive got a wr 200 and use 40:1 with castrol tts which is fully synthetic with pump premium (96-98 RON).
even though the manual says to use 25:1 with castrol 747! ($32 AUS a litre)!!
