Look on the left side of the frame up by the handle bar. There should be a sticker up there that states the year.

There are also Honda codes stamped and printed all over the place. My 2002's code is KZ3W... is the 2003 KZ3X?

Is there a white foam gasket between the airbox and the carb boot? Or maybe blue seals around the compression adjuster on top of the forks?

A friend of mine had a similar problem. Bought a used bike then couldn't figure out the year. I showed him where to look for VIN numbers, and guess what, all numbers ground off. We called the guy and gave him one hour to show up with his truck and a cash refund or we were calling the cops to figure it out.
Guy showed up pronto!

NP I gave you some time to pop in and then figured I'd answer for you since you were probably busy :thumb:

I always look at te paperwork and compare vin #'s now. I had that happen to me once from a dealer,But it was too late to do anything about it,a year later.
