wait one more question. did some reading and stuff about TDC. i've noticed that i could kick it twice, then on the third time it's all stiff. is that TDC? the 2004 kx250f has an automatic compression release system, so there's no way to release the compression other than kicking through? anyhow, two questions

1. when it's stiff is that the tdc or compression stroke?

2. is there a greater chance of turning it on if i kick through the compression stroke? cause kicking through it is really hard. maybe the stroke after or before the compression stroke is better for turning it on easier? Maybe my automatic compression release is not working.

I just want to understand. I'll def read the service manual when it comes in, but for now I want to know.

My kid rides an '04 KXF250. He's a 15 yo, 125 pound weakling. His bike starts first or second kick most eveytime.

But, he uses the kick starter, not the kickstand! :rotfl:

Do a search. Learn some basics. Get a manual, then READ IT.

There is a thread somewhere on DRN that explains a lot of the terminology that you will see being used here, such as TDC, or Top Dead Center. See if you can find that, and read it, then re-read it.

BTW...my bike never gets turned on when I kick it. She's not that kind of girl! :coocoo:
