Hey folks I want to get a honda cr125 or cr250. I can't afford a new one but like the support of the local honda dealer. They don't get many used bikes so I will try to buy or trade for one from the local aftermarket dealer.
Anyway I live in Opelousas, Louisiana. I like to ride everthing however my main emphasis is hare scrambles. I will be entering motocross soon so one that is versatile is a concern. Weight is also an issue.
Here's facts about me
weight - 170-175
height - 5'11
class - B (but want to be AA)
I currently ride a 2000 kx250 but want something faster and with a stiffer frame. It has good woods suspension but isn't that great for jumps.
I used to race a 1987 kdx200 and did well on it at times. It was underpowered, but I liked riding it in a lower gear and keeping the throttle pinned.
I guess I'm leaning towards a cr125 due to the weight, I just want one that is ported and reliable. I wouldn't mind the task of rebuilding the top and bottom end on a yearly basis.
I can do any type of work on a bike but I don't have the tools and knowledge ( or patience to do a lot of suspension work)
